(Berlin, April 2024) An extraordinary burger extravaganza kicks off in Berlin on Father's Day. "The Champions Burger" has already been a huge success in Spain and has grown over the years to become Europe's largest food truck event. Kreutzers, the online shop for sustainable food, is bringing the event to Germany for the first time this year. From May to September, the search for the best burger nationwide will take place in 8 cities (Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt, Saarbrücken, and Munich) over a total of 95 days. The spectacular RAW Grounds in Berlin will host the grand event series on May 9 at 10 a.m., where 16 of Germany's most successful burger joints will compete against each other for 11 days each. Until May 19, visitors to the capital can enjoy the most excellent gourmet burgers in the country every day and vote for their favorite via QR code. Festival admission is free, and all burgers will be offered at the same price. From bun to patty, all ingredients come from sustainable sources - a requirement for the organizers at Kreutzers, who also place great emphasis on sustainability themselves. Well-known stars like The BossHoss and Massiv as well as blogger personalities like Blocki030 or Rene Schmock are expected to attend - with The BossHoss even participating in the competition with their own food truck, presenting their TBH burger and their new BBQ book at selected locations. The family business Burgis will provide a potato-based burger highlight with their knödel (dumpling) specialty, entering the competition with a knödel-based Roundie Burger.

Berlin is the Ideal Location for the Premiere of the Cultural Festival Honoring the Burger

The capital is known for a vibrant food culture characterized by diverse culinary offerings. Burgers have become a popular and firmly established part of the culinary scene, ranging from classic to creative interpretations offered by numerous restaurants, snack bars, and food trucks. This underscores Berliners' appreciation for the delicious classic. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to launch this fantastic event series at the iconic RAW Grounds in the capital. Berlin is the city of unlimited possibilities, colorful, creative, lively, and open to new things, and that's why 'The Champions Burger' fits incredibly well here," says Manuel Ostner, Founder and CEO of the organizer Kreutzers. For a long time, burgers were stamped as greasy fast food - but in recent years, they have experienced a great revival. The participating burger joints will demonstrate with their dishes what makes a good burger, what creative possibilities exist, and why it doesn't have to be an unhealthy fast-food meal. "We are confident that the event will generate great interest and that people will prefer a high-quality burger over a fast-food one in the end," Ostner continues.

Exclusive Program with Impressive Laser Show

In addition to many delicious burger creations, there will be other delicious offerings on the festival grounds outside the competition, such as sweet waffles, crispy fries, and refreshing drinks. For the little ones, there will be a special highlight: a giant burger-themed bouncy castle made specifically for the event. Visitors can also look forward to a colorful program. On opening day, there will be an impressive laser show, and Sascha Vollmer and Alec Völkel from The BossHoss will be present at their own food truck on May 9, showcasing their TBH burger and their new BBQ book. They will also invite renowned BBQ influencers to an exclusive "Meat & Greet." Prior to the event, the two will launch an exciting contest together with these influencers - the lucky winners will be part of the "Meat & Greet," where they will not only enjoy cool drinks but also have the unique opportunity to interact personally with Sascha Vollmer and Alec Völkel as well as the influencers. "The Champions Burger" is sponsored by 4 major international brands, including Heineken, Pepsi, Bloody Water, the emerging water brand, and Ninja, the successful US kitchen appliance manufacturer experiencing strong growth in Germany.
