(Regensburg, April 2024) "The Champions Burger" is already a huge success in Spain and has become the largest food truck event in Europe in recent years. This year, Kreutzers, the online shop for sustainable food, is bringing the event to Germany for the first time. From May to September, in 8 cities (Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Frankfurt, Saarbrücken, and Munich), the nationwide best burger will be sought for 95 days. 16 of Germany's most successful burger shops will compete with their personal creations of the American cultural icon to convince and win the title of "The Champions Burger." Well-known stars like The BossHoss and Massiv, as well as popular bloggers like Blocki030 and Rene Schmock, are expected at the events—The BossHoss even participate with their own food truck in the competition and will serve burgers at some locations. "The Champions Burger" is the perfect opportunity to discover the most excellent gourmet burgers in Germany together with friends or family and select the champion among them. Thus, a new era of burger enjoyment is to be initiated in Germany. The kick-off will take place on May 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the RAW area in Berlin.

Germany's best burger shops showcase their revolution of the burger

For a long time, the burger was stamped as greasy fast food; however, it has experienced a significant revival in recent years. The 16 best burger shops in Germany will showcase what makes a good burger, what creative possibilities there are, and why it doesn't have to be an unhealthy fast food meal. In each city, they will compete with their own food truck and only one specially created burger on 11 days each, from Thursday to the following Sunday. The special feature: from the bun to the patty, all ingredients of the burgers come from sustainable production. This is a requirement for the organizer Kreutzers, who also places great emphasis on sustainability.

The battle for the "best burger"

During this spectacle, visitors throughout Germany have the opportunity to taste the culinary burger highlights and then submit a rating via QR code. Each burger is offered at a fixed price of €14.49, while admission to the festival grounds is free. The burgers are rated in 5 categories: from the bun to the presentation to the originality of the burger, everything is judged. The winner will be crowned at the grand finale on September 8, 2024, in Munich. "We are extremely proud that we were able to bring this top event to Germany in 2024 and will be present in 8 cities with 16 of the best burger shops in Germany. We want to revolutionize the burger world once again and show what lies behind the dish that was once stamped as fast food. We are convinced that the event will become a permanent fixture in the annual calendar," says Manuel Ostner, Founder and CEO of the organizer Kreutzers. In Spain, the event is already a great success and will take place there for the 5th time this year - up to 4 million visitors are expected. For the Germany premiere, the organizer expects up to 1.6 million visitors.

Exclusive program and renowned sponsors

In addition to the many delicious burger creations, there are other delicious offers on the festival grounds outside of the competition, such as sweet waffles, crispy fries, and refreshing drinks. Visitors can also look forward to a colorful program. There will be an impressive laser show on each opening day, and in Berlin, The BossHoss will perform some of their hits on May 9. In addition, a specially made, huge burger bouncy castle will be set up at each location as a special highlight for the little ones. "The Champions Burger" is sponsored by 4 large international brands, including Heineken, Pepsi, the emerging water brand Bloody Water, and the successful US-American kitchen appliance manufacturer Ninja, which is on a strong growth path in Germany.
