- Roofing industry summit on March 15 and 16 at Hotel Le Méridien
(Hamburg, March 2024) The German Roofing Award – the DACHKRONE – has been annually awarded for three years and is gaining popularity in the German craftsmanship industry. To meet the growing need of the industry for representation and knowledge transfer, the organizers, the Bauverlag from Gütersloh, and the online roofing material dealer Dachdeckermarkt24, have decided to create another offering: the exclusive Roofer’s Club, reserved solely for owners and managing directors of craft businesses. The aim is to enhance networking among roofing companies and to create new consulting services to provide firms with fresh impetus for digitization, personnel recruitment, and green transformation in challenging times. About 20 medium-sized and larger companies in the industry have already opted to participate, including heavyweights such as Jan Voges, the newly elected Vice President of the Central Association of the German Roofing Trade (ZVDH), master roofer Stefan Bern from Mönchengladbach, and the well-known Mainz-based Jonas Dämgen from radio and television. Urs Nies, Managing Director of DACHKRONE, is very pleased with this endorsement: “The construction industry is currently going through tough times. However, there seems to be an increasing desire for formats that help craft businesses to take their future into their own hands, plan better, and actively shape their external impact – these are the new craft managers who will redefine the image of the profession in the next decades.”
On March 15 and 16, 2024, the club will convene at Hotel Le Méridien in Hamburg for its inaugural congress. It will feature high-profile speakers from various fields: Tanja May, deputy editor-in-chief of the BILD newspaper, will kick off the event with a speech on Friday evening. On Saturday, the congress will continue with outlooks on the economic year 2024 in the construction industry by Dr. Klaus Wohlrabe, Head of Studies at the ifo Institute. Following that, Max Jünger and Luisa Schmitt from the rapidly growing start-up Hammerjobs will provide insights into the latest trends in skilled worker recruitment and their rapid business development.
At 1:30 p.m., one of the highlights of the first event will take place: Jan Fleischhauer from FOCUS, one of Germany's most prominent journalists, will take a look at the media and media power in Germany – one of the key topics of the event. The day will be rounded off by the renowned architect Martin Murphy from the Hamburg-based firm Störmer Murphy and Partners and the well-known consultant Thorsten Moortz from handwerk.live, who will provide an overview of the new digital management tools and software solutions for companies. Festive evening events will also take place on both days.
Journalists interested in participating can still register last minute with the team from the Deutscher Pressestern: Florian Hirt and Anke Loeppke, 0611/395395. Jan Voges, the newly elected president of the ZVDH association, and Urs Nies are also available for interviews.
